How do they work?
The acids within the peel work by bringing the pH of the skin to an optimum 3.8 acidity level. This action chemically loosens the "glue" that binds the dead and damaged cells causing exfoliation and serving to promote new cell growth.
Customized Chemical Peels
Glycolic - This acid can be used for ALL skin types. It is excellent for sun spots, sun damaged skin, fine lines, clogged pores, and uneven skin tones. Glycolic acid is very moisturizing, but at the same time it helps to lessen breakouts, constricts the pores, and causes a firming effect. Glycolic acid penetrates the skin and has a warm sensation and a tingling effect on the skin.
Salicylic - This is best for oily and acne prone skin. Salicylic acid is a natural derivative that aids in clearing up breakouts, minimizing shine, and exfoliating dead skin on the surface. It also helps with fine lines and sun damaged skin.
Lactic - This is a natural milk acid which helps to promote hydration in the skin, as well as exfoliation. Lactic acid is ideal for dry, sensitive skin.
Dermapeel - This is an exfoliation treatment that is ideal for normal, dry, and sensitive skin types. The roughened outer layer of skin is removed with the use of a specially made shaving device. A lactic or glycolic acid is then applied to chemically exfoliate.
